Alright, I have a question that's been 'bugging' me for ages.... (hehe) Are wasps as important as bees for pollinating? I mean, we all give wasps a bad name, but are they actually super cool doods and I've been missing something all along, should I love them as much as bees? Big love x

Hi Xavy thanks for reaching out!
Great question - Scientists found that wasps are indeed super valuable pollinators. Although research has found that they are not as efficient in pollinating flowers as are for example honey bees or bumble bees. This is because bees have fuzzy, fluffy hair, so nectar and pollen can stick to their little legs and bodies more easily, unlike wasps who aren’t as hairy. So yes - wasps do play a super important role in pollinating crops, they transfer pollen and play a big role in the process of fruit, veg, herb and flower pollination.
Another fun fact about wasps: They are crucial for keeping ecosystems in balance. For example: They function as a natural pest control and keep wildlife and ecosystems in balance. They eat, for example, flies, spider, etc.
Hope this helps :)
