Hi and welcome back!
February is almost over, and here at Confetti Gardens we are really looking forward to spring. The days are getting longer again, the sun is sending us stronger, warming rays and the first flower and vegetable seeds can be sown into the garden soil.
Oh, spring is the most beautiful time of the year, with its harbingers of crocuses and daffodils, its lush may green, the many flowers and busily buzzing insects.
Spring revives everything and simply puts us in a good mood.
The anticipation for spring is so great for us - especially this year - is it for you as well? For this issue we have chosen the carrot, which we would like to recommend to you to grow as a pollinator-friendly plant. As a little fun fact: Did you know that the original carrot varieties were purple or white instead of orange? The orange-colored carrot variety was only bred in the 16th century in the Netherlands.
In our February issue we will present you a plant portrait of the carrot and share tips and tricks for growing it on the balcony or in the garden. As always, we will tell you which companion plants are helpful and we have another delicious recipe that we would like to share with you.
Now, we hope you enjoy our February edition and am sending springtime greetings your way!
PS: As always, let us know if you have any questions or requests for future plant portraits.
You can download the # issue no. nine as a PDF document in English or German below, as always it's free.
See you there, lots of love - humming greetings from the garden post deliverers,
Malin and Franzi
